My Approach

Therapist Mind. Doula Heart. Healer Spirit.

After a very evidenced-based research background and several years of helping others therapeutically, I can honestly say that I have the mind of a therapist! It doesn't mean I am trying to figure out what makes others tick all the time, as some people have asked. It does, however, mean that I have a way of noticing your blindspots, new ways of framing things, finding hope when you don't think there is any left, and a mental toolbox built from thousands of hours of reading and using methods for any problems you are facing. When we meet, my therapist mind has no agenda other than to listen, make sure I am understanding you and your needs, and to be flexible until we find the right tools to help you.

Traditionally, a doula has always been "a servant of women" especially during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. They are women supporting women with Divine Feminine energy and wisdom, providing them with comfort, safety, and knowledge in a very hands-on way which empowers them to harness their inner strength. Since my own training as a doula, I realized this is who I am in my heart and an art that has largely been missing in the Western medical model of treatment. I believe women deserve this kind of comfort and service in any difficult juncture of their lives. From birth to divorce to exploring your own path and purpose, it is my honor to serve you in this way.

A healer is someone that is not only sensitive to the wounds of others, but sensitive because they too have been wounded and have done the work to crawl out of the darkness. Eventually those wounds heal and the truth becomes evident- those wounds were great blessings which brought about growth. The healer makes it her mission to not shy away from the wounds in herself or others and to hold space for them until the truth is evident to them as well. This is part of my spirit and a reason I think others find me comforting. Witnessing and assisting you on your healing journey is my greatest joy and purpose and the reason I create Sacred Space.

I look forward to helping you gain greater insight into your mind, heart, and spirit and whether they are in alignment. The work may not always be easy, but it will always be worth it.
